Narrative Photo Series
Themed as "Perspectives", this narrative photo series revolves around the community of Bukit Batok East. It aims to showcase the different points of view that I have had of the community. During this project, I was glad to have met various residents who have been welcoming and warm in accepting my requests.
The photo series features both the residents' front and back views. Through this, I am trying to convey the message that it can be hard to approach others at first due to the fear of rejection. But by taking the initiative to either smile or kick-start a conversation, one will be glad to find out that many people are actually warm and friendly behind their initial shyness. This can even lead to new bonds being formed within the community.

Wan Qing CultureFest' 17 is an annual event that celebrates the rich local Chinese arts, literary and heritage scene.
Having this festival as the theme of my event series, I was inspired to capture the few event moments that people may most likely not pay attention to, such as the number of children who frequent the swing, the "rickshaw display" and the emotions of the various people who attended.
With these photos, I aim to portray the event itself to whoever who views the photo series, including those who went for the festival. As to them, this will serve as a tool that aids to relive the little moments that they have had during the festival.
