The Future of Us
Pico Art International Pte Ltd | December 2015 - March 2016
(REFLECT ON EXHIBITION)
Purpose of Exhibition
To allow people to envision how Singapore can be like in the near future.
Responsibility
I was involved in:
-
Merchandise, Booth
-
Information Booth
-
Registration Booth
Reflection
This was a rewarding experience as the management was often seen constantly building a rapport with the part-timers which made us feel a sense of belonging and importance to the company. This made me realise how important volunteer management is as it can determine how volunteers will behave which in turn, affects the patrons.

The Formula One
Singapore Grand Prix | September 2015 & September 2016
(WHAT WAS EFFECTIVE/INEFFECTIVE, PROVIDE REC)
Purpose
The Formula One is one of the biggest annual night race events. In 2015 and 2016, I was given the opportunity to be part of the service crew.
Responsibility
In 2015, I was assigned to be an internal gate access at zone 3 and 4.
-
Double checking of event passes
In 2016, I had the opportunity to be part of the Padang VIP crew.
-
Attend to people of higher status & the Padang concert goers
-
Welcome VIPs
-
Giving out of water to the audience before the concert
-
Reflection
Through this, I have learnt that it is essential for volunteers to observe the code of conduct while on duty. For example, a team member of mine got stripped off her post as she was discovered video taking the concert by the higher management. The time and effort she put into the three days ended up being instantly flushed down the drain as she did not even get rewarded for the job that she did.
