FINAL YEAR PROJECT - NIAN
Project Description
The event served as a platform to curate a culture of love and respect for elderly among youths. It also encouraged intergenerational interaction through an interactive skit, which included performances and games.
Target Audience
Elderly and youths from Cheng San
Role
Project Leader
As the leader, I oversaw the project development from the initial drafting of the proposal to its confirmation. I set tasks for each of the members according to their specialisation, so as to allow the project to work out more smoothly. I was also in-charge of collating all the necessary details to run the event. During the event itself, I had to be flexible towards different situations while being the first point of contact for volunteers and partners.
Learning Points
-
Importance of teamwork: With teamwork, we were able to communicate effectively which prevented major conflicts from cropping up
-
Good volunteer management: We should always constantly build rapport with our volunteers in order to make them feel valued.

4th quarter residents' event footloose
Project Description
The Ascott Limited organises an event every quarterly with the intention of enhancing the interactions and strengthening the relationships among the Ascott guests, service staff and residents. It creates opportunities for residents to enhance their knowledge of Singapore and its kaleidoscope of activities relating to culture, cuisine, festive, arts, nature and places of interest.
Target Audience
Residents of the Ascott Limited
Role
Student Organiser
Together with my team, I was responsible for the planning and execution of the programmes.
Learning Points
Through this event, I was given the opportunity to see how The Ascott Limited operates in terms of their communication towards their guests and staff. As such, I was able to apply some of the skills I observe into how I should effectively convey my messages. This in turn enabled me to maintain constant contact with the company to ensure a smooth running event.
